After our recent showing in the MR500 these races are not to be missed!

5) SINGAPORE RACE DETAILS
Some preliminary information on our racing fixtures in Singapore:
April – Sat 16th
Peoples Association Expat Team Race
Bedok Reservoir (last year we got a Silver).
Normally only 1 race, 500M and we can win medals. We will compete in this race instead of training.
(All paddlers should consider entering this race!)
May – Sat 21st
Males and females may register for the DIVAS 2011. Racing for the Ladies – or at least people who are dressed as Ladies!
It is traditional for the male teams to don themed dresses, perform a rehearsed dance number and then ‘attempt’ to paddle. This revelry is followed by a beach barbeque and beers. Certainly one of the most fun events of the Singapore race calendar!
July – Sat 9th & Sun 10th
SDBA July – 800m race at Bedok Reservoir
We are looking to see who would be interested in this race as we will not be entering all categories.
August – Sat 20th
SDBA-AustCham 10KM Dragon Boat Challenge 2011
This is an exhilarating and challenging mixed race around Marina Reservoir that involves continuous paddling for around 55 minutes (or less hopefully!)
November – Sat 19th & Sun 20th
29th Singapore River Regatta 2011
Singapore River (Boat Quay)
This is one of the key events of the Singapore calendar and always proves to be a memorable and exciting weekend.
6) PUB QUIZ
On Friday 1st of April at 7.00pm we will be holding a Pub Quiz for Charity (Sailors’ Society). It will be at RedDot at BoatQuay. $10 per participant (teams of up to 4 and everyone buys their own food/drinks). Members of the team and their friends are very welcome – just turn up on the night to take part.
Note that the trip to see “The Lion King” at the Sands Theatre on Friday the 8th April has been held over. We hope to have a new date in due course.
Looking forward to seeing you at training at the weekend
