Social fun and games and are you sitting comfortably?

Dear Paddlers

Some fun and games news for you this week from our Social Secretaries Pam and Amelia – plus the chance to sit comfortably on the boat:

Think you know Singapore?  Put your local knowledge to the test with the British Dragon’s Amazing Race 2011.

It will be held at 1.45pm on Sunday 26th June.  Teams will take to the streets of Singapore to solve clues, complete challenges and get all competitive (as usual!). It’s also an opportunity to say goodbye to Gemma and Matt on their last
weekend in Singapore.

It’ll be a three hour challenge so there’ll be time for drinks and food after.  Full details will be released closer to the date.  We wouldn’t want anyone cheating already!

Sign up by Saturday 18th June using the online registration (below) and give your $10 entry fee to Amelia.

It’s the time of the year where we put down our paddles and lay back for a weekend of sun, lazing around and partying with our team mates.

Join us on Sibu from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st July (no annual leave needed).  Leaving Singapore at 7pm, you’ll be whisked to a tropical island off the east coast of Malaysia. The cost is S$300 including 2 nights’ accommodation, coach and ferry transport and all meals. You’ll just need to bring beer money.  We’ll be staying at the Malay style eco-resort the Sea Gypsy.

You must sign up by Sunday 19th June and bring your money down to training and give it to Pam.  Online registration below:

Well commercially they say it’s all about bums on seats and our team treasurer Mel couldn’t agree more!  She has secured a cheeky rock bottom special offer on bum pads (those spiffy new black ones that clip over your seat) for only $20 each.  There is a butt though – she needs an order of 15 to clench the deal.

So get off your backside now and send your order to me via my team email and I will compile the list. Please give your $20 to Mel directly   Don’t be a sore loser at the tail end of the queue as it’ll be a real bummer if you miss out…

See you at training.

Best wishes,

Philip N. Morgan – Team Secretary
British Dragons
