Dear Paddlers

Our Ladies Captain (Nicky) has kindly provided all the information:

Calling all Divas, Drags and those who dare!
It’s that time of year again! DIVAS weekend is here!
British Team, here are your joining instructions for Saturday 18th June:
Divas (Ladies!)
Please meet at the Brits cage at 11.45am. We have to register our team at 12 Noon. Please be on time and bring your paddle and your winning attitude with you!
For us ladies it’s a serious race with medals at stake. We have been training really hard and have a great chance of taking medals home, but we will have to give it everything we have on the day, stay cool, calm and collected and remember our training.
If you have any problems on Saturday, please let Nicky know.
Drags (Guys!?)
Please meet at 11am at Brewerkz (Indoor Stadium) for a final rehearsal, to swap make up tips and have lunch and a few beers!
For us it’s, well it’s divas!! It’s fun all the way!
If you have any problems on Saturday, please let Andy know.
Those Who Dare (Loyal Supporters)
The races start at 1pm – don’t be late or you’ll miss all the action and you wouldn’t want to miss a second!

go down to Kallang Saturday, you’re sure of a big surprise
If you go down to Kallang Saturday, you’d better go wanting a prize.
For ev’ry diva that ever there was, will gather there for certain, because
Saturday’s the day the Brits divas get their bling on!

If you go down to Kallang Saturday, you’d better not go alone
It’ll be lovely down in Kallang Saturday, but safer to stay at home!
For ev’ry drag that ever there was, will gather there for certain, because
Saturday’s the day the British drags get their kit on.
Divas time for British drags, the pretty British drags’ll be having a lovely time that day
Watch them, catch them unawares, and see them gaily dance and play.
See them all just prance about, they love to play and shout; they never have any cares;
At one o’clock their great British teammates will laugh and lend support,
Because they’ll really need it looking like that!”

Thanks and see you on Saturday!

Training is ON as usual this Sunday 19th June. As always please be at Kallang by 08.45am for a 09.00am launch on the water.

Wednesday training is held weekly at Farrer Park Swimming Complex (a ten minute stroll from Little India MRT station and over the road from the KK Hospital). Between 20-30 paddlers regularly attend.

Coaching is led by Jason and each session gives everyone the chance to improve their fitness and hone their paddling technique. Each session starts at 7.00pm and ends at 8.30pm (usually followed by supper at a local eaterie). If you’ve never tried a Wednesday session then come along and give it a go!

We are still taking orders for the spiffy new black “clip on” Bum Pads. They are $20 each and if you would like to order one then please drop me an email (just hit reply) and I’ll add you to the list.

See you at the Diva’s folks (and don’t forget your cameras!)

Best wishes,

Philip N. Morgan – Team Secretary
