2) TRAINING SCHEDULE
Training recommences with our pool training session at Farrer Park Swimming Complex (near Little India MRT) at 7.00pm on Wednesday 20th July.
Training on the water at Kallang will start again on Saturday 23rd July at 3.30pm and on Sunday 24th July at 08.45am.
Please note that we will NOT be training on the weekend of 30th and 31st July due to our team trip to Sibu.
3) BUMPAD SIZE CONCERN
Bigger isn’t always better.
Well folks, as we were sitting comfortably on our new clip-around Bumpads, word
has reached us that the first batch we received were not strictly SDBA/IDBF “race legal”.
Just when it has become fashionable to use the phrase “oversize” when marketing anything it seems that our bumpads really are one size too big! The regulations require that they will have to be chopped-off (slightly) at one end so that they will pass dimensional muster at future races.
However please do not fret unduly on this small matter. To save you bodgering about with scissors, sharp knives, hacksaws and elastoplast we have arranged with the supplier to make the necessary cut (very neatly) on your behalf. So if you had one of the original batch of new Bumpads (i.e. not the ones just distributed at the Bedok SDBA race weekend) then please bring it along to training on Saturday 23rd July and pass it to Kenny so that she can settle the matter for you.
Please don’t forget to mark your name on your Bumpad with an indelible pen before surrendering it to her ministrations (as subsequent claims of “I didn’t put my name on it but it’s the black one that clips on to the seat…” will be dismissed with the usual hearty laughter and the demand to offer up an extra ten push-ups).
I look forward to seeing you at Pool training next Wednesday.
