Sibu Island Weekend – registration now open

Hello Paddlers

It’s time for our annual team getaway trip where we leave our paddles behind and head up to Sibu island for a weekend of fun and frolics at an idyllic island resort off the coast of Malaysia.  This is the chance for team members to relax and recharge their batteries before we begin to prepare for our races in the autumn.  We will NOT be paddling on this trip (unless you want to rent a canoe…).

Join us for our annual trip to Sibu Island from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd July 2012 (no annual leave needed).

Leaving Singapore on Friday evening, we’ll be whisked by luxury mini-coach from Orchard Road to a tropical island off the east coast of Malaysia. The cost is just $300 per person (the same as last year) including 2 nights’ accommodation, coach and ferry transport and all meals – including our traditional beach barbecue on the Saturday evening. You’ll only need to bring money for your drinks and any of the activities you may want to do whilst you’re there (fishing, snorkelling, diving and other pursuits are available) . We’ll be staying at the Malay style eco-resort the Sea Gypsy which is renowned for its laid-back vibe, beautiful sandy beach and a bar that only closes when the last resident has ambled off to bed.

Only 28 places are available on this trip and guests of team members are welcome. Please sign up online by Friday 22nd June 2012.

Bring your money down to training and give it to Natalia or Pam as soon as you have registered so that your place(s) can be confirmed. Please note that this trip is to Malaysia so you will need your passport (and a visa if applicable).

All best wishes,

Philip N. Morgan – Team Secretary
