Dear Paddlers

TRAINING FOR SAVA SPRINTS   |   BRITS TAKE 6th PLACE IN AUSTCHAM 10KM CHALLENGE   |   AMAZING RACE REGISTRATION

1) TRAINING FOR SAVA SPRINTS

The SAVA Sprints will be held at the Lower Seletar Reservoir on the weekend of the 8th and 9th September and we only have four training sessions left to prepare for them.

Training for the SAVA Sprints will resume at Farrer Park Pool at 7.00pm on Wednesday 29th August 2012.

The Captains remind all paddlers that if you have signed up for the SAVA Sprints then you should make yourself available for all the training sessions in the lead up to the event.

And remember, if you are joining for the race dinner on Sunday 9th September (or wish you come as a supporter or bring guests) you must register now for your choice of meal (otherwise no meal will be provided for you). The meal is included in your race entry fee (or $30 for supporters and guests).

AMAZING RACE REGISTRATION

This fun and throught-provoking social event will be held at 4.00pm on Saturday 15th September.

Last year this event proved to be a real winner as small teams of paddlers with clipboards and cameras scoured the Boat Quay waterfront area to solve clues and puzzles, hunt for facts and be photgraphed interacting with local landmarks.  This year the event will see us exploring a different part of Singapore but the location will remain a closely guarded secret for now to avoid giving ny advantage to armchair sleuths in the meantime!

The event will take place over two hours and we’ll then go off to celebrate (and swap notes on the answers) over some food and beers.  Please sign up to take part before September 10th via the website and pay Mel or Kate $10.

See you on Wednesday for Pool Training at Farrer Park.

All the best,
