TRAINING RESTARTS FOR 2013   |   TEAM BUILDING DAY   |

Happy New Year!  Wishing you a happy and successful 2013 – and lots of medals in the coming year.

1) TRAINING RESTARTS FOR 2013

Training restarts at Kallang on Saturday 12th January 2013 at 3.30pm. All paddlers are very welcome for our first “easy paddle” session of the season!

If you would like to learn to Cox/Helm in 2013 then please come along as our Captain will also be training potential Coxes and will help you on your way to the Helms Test which is conducted by SDBA.

2) TEAM BUILDING DAY

We cannot train on Sunday 13th January due to a Canoe Competition at Kallang so instead we’ll be holding a Team Building Day for our Ladies’ and Mens’ teams.

What: ….. Ladies’ Team Building Day – Potluck Beach Day; Bikinis, Beach Balls & Bubbles!!!!!
Where: ….. Beachside somewhere in Singapore
When: ….. Sunday 13th January 2013 (start time to be circulated in due course)
Price: ….. To be announced but will probably be Potluck and buy your own drinks!

And so our Mens’ Team will not be left fretting at home with their pipe and slippers we have:

What: ….. Mens’ Team Building Day – Jungle Paintball Challenge!
Where: ….. Johor Bahru, Malaysia
When: ….. Sunday 13th January 2013 (set off at 09.00am)
Price: ….. $60 (approx) to include transport to the site, all equipment, etc.

At the end of the day it is intended that both teams will join forces in Singapore to socialise and, er, swap war stories about their adventures during the day!

Please note that these are gender specific events – so boys cannot sign-up to go frollicking in the surf with a cocktail in their hand with our Ladies, and of course Ladies cannot don their SWAT team jumpsuits and head off to find targets in JB (though if you wear the complete camouflage outfit including a balaclava and dark glasses then we might have trouble spotting you on the bus!).

Men heading to JB should note that you will need your passport – yes, Malaysia is a different country! (many nationalities don’t need a Visa to visit Malaysia but if you are unsure then please do check beforehand).

If you want to take part in the Team Building Day please register online by Saturday 5th January 2013 at:

I look forward to seeing you at our first training of the new year on Saturday 12th January at 3.30pm at Kallang.

All the best
