3) OUR DRAGONS HAVE A HEADACHE!

How would you like to complete a tough training session only to be upended and unceremoniously thrown head first into the boat?

Well it happens quite often to our dragons and regular bashes to the head have taken a heavy toll that Aspirin alone can’t remedy.  Gill tells me that one of the Dragon heads was so badly bashed from being flung into a boat recently that specialist repairs cost $250!

Please treat the Dragon heads (and tails) with the reverence they deserve and ensure that after training they are gently laid across the seats of the boats before the covers go on.  Please don’t put them on the floor of the boat as if water gets in they can be damaged – yep, those heads can swell up folks and that is costly too.  Many thanks!

4) WATER AND MORE

Our Social Secretaries remind you to bring sufficient water to all training sessions.  And our Team Manager adds that you should make sure that you bring re-hydration salts, bananas and energy snacks and drinks when you come to races as drinking plain water alone will not be sufficient to make you a champion.

5) LAST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH DRINKS

Join us on Friday 28th June at 7.30pm onwards for our “Last Friday of the Month” drinks and good cheer.  This month we will be joined by our friends (and rivals!) from the American Dragons so this will be a perfect opportunity to regale them with stirring war stories from our battles in Hong Kong…Drinks will be held at London on Boat Quay.  London is about half way along the waterfront at Boat Quay and supporters and guests are all very welcomeDo bring along your London membership card to enjoy a 5% discount on food and drinks (and to ensure that an additional 7% is rebated back to the team!).  Also please wear your team drinking shirt.

The Bulletin will be taking a break next week.  In the meantime I’m looking forward to seeing everyone competing in Hong Kong for our biggest overseas foray to date!

All the best,

Philip N. Morgan – Team Secretary
