Register now for the Malacca / Putrajaya Race at the end of May
REGISTER NOW FOR MALACCA PUTRAJAYA RACE | TRAINING CONTINUES OVER THE EASTER HOLIDAY WEEKEND |
1) REGISTER NOW FOR MALACCA PUTRAJAYA RACE
As most of you may already know we sadly can’t go ahead with Taiwan, due to unfavourable race regulations, cost and days off required.
Most of you chose the Malaysia International Dragon Boat Championship instead. Racing in Malacca and Putrajaya. It’s going to be a great weekend with lots of racing and a closing party on Sunday evening in KL. Let’s Party Hard and Paddle Harder!
The organisers are finalising the race schedule but most probably you need to take a half or day off on the Monday if you want to stay for the closing party. There’s an option to go sightseeing or just chill on the Monday and have a relaxed ride back avoiding Sunday night traffic at the checkpoint.
Depart Singapore Friday 30th May at about 6pm returning Monday 2nd June 2014.
There is a remote possibility we may have to go on Thursday the 29th so please just be prepared for this. Let me know in the comment box on the registration form if you are able to take a day of on Friday if need be.
Our programme will be as follows:
Fri 30th depart Singapore 6pm (approx) by bus to Malacca. Stay overnight in Malacca
Sat 31st 250m races in Malacca. Bus ride to Kuala Lumpur and 2 nights in KL
Sun 1st 500m races in Purtajaya. Closing party in KL (those wanting to return to SG will depart)
To make the final deadline given by the race organisation we will need to finalise registration immediately. In order to confirm your attendance – we will need your details and a non-refundable deposit of S$150 latest by this Wednesday 23rd April. Without this we will not be able to register you.
Register via: www.britishdragonboat.com/putrajaya/
Registration closes at midnight on Wednesday 23rd April.
You can pay your deposit either in cash to one of our treasurers at training or transfer it to the team’s account. Don’t forget to put your initials so we know it’s you!
In case you transfer the amount please provide a copy of the transfer to the Trasurers or International Rep.
This event is open to all paddlers, but Captains discretion of who can, and cannot go will apply. Speak to one of the Captains if you wish to.
Please note that of course you will need to carry a valid passport to cross into Malaysia.
Only a few nationalities need to arrange a visa before their visit. You can find the full details here if you wish to check:
Please note that we are awaiting information on going to Korea in September, we will release information once we have heard from the organisers in Korea.
(With many thanks to Natalia (our International Rep.) for all of her efforts on planning and researching our overseas adventures).
