TRAINING AND CHRISTMAS PADDLE THIS SATURDAY    |    TEAM BOAT CLEAN

1) TRAINING AND CHRISTMAS PADDLE THIS SATURDAY

We have revised training this Saturday 5th December 2015 to start earlier and to incorporate some training with the Germans for our Penang races plus we will add our Traditional “Christmas Paddle” at the end.

This is the schedule:

1:30pm meet at the cages
2-3pm Brits training
3-4pm Penang training (depending on the makeup of non-Penang paddlers, we may have a separate/simultaneous session for them)
4-5.30pm Christmas paddle, drinks, etc.

The Christmas Paddle will include our usual Santa Hats, mulled wine and mince pies to fortify us and Carol Singing to regale and amaze the seasonal passers-by on shore!

Please feel free to wear additional seasonal items such as baubles, reindeer antlers, tinsel or similar seasonal accessories.

2) TEAM BOAT CLEAN

We will NOT have training on Sunday 6th December 2015.  Instead at 08.30am we will meet at the boats for a cleaning and painting operation.  The plan is to get the boats all spruced up and ready to shine for next season. This will entail a good cleaning along with sanding and varnishing the gunwale and rudder rig.  We will also be checking the PFD’s and cleaning out the cages.

Please bring along the following if you can (there will be some supplies on hand but the more the merrier):

  • cleaning gloves
  • a bucket/pail
  • any old towels/clothes/rags/scrubbers
  • clothes you don’t mind cleaning in
  • a positive attitude

If you accidentally sleep in or only have a little time to spend with us, don’t worry. Any time you can spare to help out will be greatly appreciated.

Snacks will be provided, as cleaning can be hungry work.  .

As always, if you have any questions please drop me an email and I’ll be happy to try to help.

All the best,
